Music Therapy

Music therapy is a research-based practice in which musical activities are used to support people in improving their health, wellbeing and quality of life. Programs are facilitated by a university-qualified Registered Music Therapist.

At Endeavour Hills Specialist School, our music therapy program is delivered throughout the school to groups, or individually, depending on each of our student needs, goals and strengths. As music is highly motivating for many students in our school, musical activities are regulalrly used to support our students in their individual and class goals.

In addition, music therapy can also support our students with their classroom engagement, emotional regulation, joint attention, motor and social skill development, communication and play.

Music therapy sessions at Endeavour Hills Specialist School may include, but are not limited to:

  • Playing instruments.
  • Singing.
  • Movement with music.
  • Musical games.
  • Songwriting/creating own music.
  • Listening to live or recorded music.
