Our Middle Primary Learning Centre provides individualised learning programs for students between the ages of 7 and 10 years. Teachers work in collaboration with families and Allied Health team members to create an Individualised Education Plan (IEP) that meets students at their point of need based on evidence collected through a variety of assessments. Information collected through initial SSG’s with families and classroom observations, also helps to inform goal setting and next steps in student’s learning.
The Middle Primary Learning Centre provides opportunities for students to engage and explore a comprehensive Victorian Curriculum, with a focus on the development of English and Mathematics through evidence-based learning programs which include, but are not limited to, the Little Learners Love Literacy program and Top Ten Mathematics. Students explore other curriculum areas including Science and Geography through meaningful, hands-on learning experiences and units of inquiry. Students also engage in personal and social learning through play-based learning programs, and are supported to develop their independence in the areas of personal care, mealtimes, and sensory regulation. Additionally, students have access to a variety of specialist programs, including Life Skills, Music Therapy, Performing Arts, Physical Education and Visual Arts.
The Middle Primary Learning Centre building is well equipped with additional learning spaces for students to use throughout the week, including a Rhythm Lab, Sensory Room, and a Messy Lab.
